UITP Workshop on “European cities leading innovation for urban mobility

UITP Workshop on “European cities leading innovation for urban mobility” taking place on 11 October at the Square – Brussels Convention Centre in Brussels.

The event is organised in the framework of the EU Week of Regions and Cities, which is the opportunity for cities and regions to showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance. This year, the EWRC will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Cohesion Policy, a timely milestone to reflect on the future of Europe beyond 2020.

At UITP, we recognise more than ever the challenges that cities are facing to respond to a growing demand of mobility, all the while addressing the political goals of healthier, fairer and more integrated and sustainable urban transport, in a challenging budgetary context. The European Week of Regions and Cities will be a great opportunity to share knowledge on how innovation can help cities tackle urban transport challenges. As such, UITP would like to invite you to attend our plenary session and the subsequent interactive roundtables, and engage in the discussion on how European cities can lead innovation for urban mobility.

During the first session, from 11:30 to 13:00, participants will be provided with keynote speeches on the topic, while our second session, from 14:30 to 16:00, will be fully interactive, with city representatives showcasing how they successfully implemented innovation in their cities. The workshop will be followed by a networking cocktail, from 16:00 to 17:00.
