CONTEXT

In the interior design of a railway vehicle, the constructor knows that accessibility, mobility, comfort, and safety are determining factors for the success of a project. Nowadays, as the train must become another vertebra in the chains of multimodal mobility and a part of mobility platforms as a service, it is essential to rethink the overall design of trains to meet current needs and be more accessible, safer, more flexible, with better manufacturing and maintenance costs, lighter, connected, digitized, integrating more services, capable of being integrated into more complex data networks, and with increasingly demanding features.

The New Interior Design Task Force of In-Move by Railgrup, chaired by EURECAT, aims to define the challenges faced by the trains of the future and identify the capabilities of the cluster member companies to respond to these challenges.

In a series of thematic sessions, the group will address the following aspects:

Co-creation sessions:Design focused on material savings.Circular economy in the railway world.New materials for interior design.Reduction of noise, vibrations, and specific frequencies for passenger comfort.

Thematic sessions:Applications of 3D printing and composite materials.New manufacturing processes for the railway environment.Limits and restrictions. Accelerators and brakes to the application of new materials and processes.

OBJECTIVE

In this session, the group will address the topic with a broad approach to establish a State-of-the-Art of Advanced Materials in Mobility.
