ERCI Virtual Conference and B2B Networking

Joint ERCI innovation event "Innovating Rail through International Collaboration"

Innovation is THE buzz word for rail but making it happen in practice takes lots of effort.  This session will look at some particular examples of delivering innovation into railways across infrastructure, projects and operations, as well as explore how trade clusters are seeking to support their members across Europe by initiatives such as these. This event continues the conversations across the industry, bringing together innovative companies from across Europe to bring forth new collaborative solutions to age-old industry challenges.

In collaboration with Innovate UK, Rail Forum, European Railway Clusters Initiative and partners, they are pleased to supply a virtual conference and B2B networking platform for the cross-linking of ideas, partnerships and valuable developments that will enhance rail operations.

Find partners and suppliers to transform rail operations

Rail infrastructure and rail operations are inherently complex, traversing national (and international) landscapes, connecting people and places, and a fundamental enabler of economic growth.  Its national importance is underpinned by investment decisions straddling operators and Governments, and further balanced against its extensive asset lifespans straddling decades, across thousands of kilometres.

Industry priorities are consistent and clear: deliver high quality, reliable, frequent services for rail users.  Set against a backdrop of challenges such as increasing capacity, effective use of digitalisation, cost reduction, increased accessibility, improved security and delivering carbon reductions (to name but a few) and you have an industry which must innovate to succeed, for doing the same today as yesterday will simply not do.

Introducing the B2Match platform

For those new to the B2Match platform, this system provides both a formal event with keynote speakers discussing how innovation can support a range of rail activities across infrastructure and rolling stock operations and most excitingly, to come together with fellow delegates of interest for 1:1 meetings. Every registered delegate can search and review your profile with a view to meeting with like-minded industry colleagues across Europe!  The window for meetings is not limited to the event itself – you can set up meetings to meet your diary across several days!

To register, click the link below and create a profile.  Given the event is all about networking and collaborating, its vital that you spend a few minutes considering your profile.

Setting up a profile

When creating your profile, try to answer one of the following questions:

  • What you are looking for?  (Suppliers / Innovators you are seeking / Outlining challenge areas of interest)
  • Who you want to work with? (specific company/technology area)
  • Or How you can help? (funding/support/demonstrators etc)

Also consider what KEYWORDS other will search for, and ensure you have ones relevant to you and your offering in your pitch/profile.

Please note

Participation in the event is free of charge. When registering, you must indicate whether you are a member of a cluster.  These registration details will be made available to all 18 ERCI member clusters so that they can identify all their members who are participating.

By registering for the part of the virtual conference, you agree that the virtual conference will be recorded and published on the YouTube platform of the STARS project.
