Dear members of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance,
The third European Hydrogen Forum is taking place next week on 17-18 June. It will be opened by European Commission Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans and Commissioner Thierry Breton and provides an opportunity to bring together all members of the Alliance.
During the first day of the Forum, we will provide an overview and first assessment of the projects collected by the Alliance for the building of an investment pipeline for the deployment of clean hydrogen. The Forum will then focus on the two central issues of access to funding and the framework conditions that enable the large-scale deployment of hydrogen. The Commission will present a new ‘hydrogen public funding compass’ guiding stakeholders to available EU and national funding schemes. Representatives from national and regional authorities and the EIB, among others, will present additional funding opportunities. European Commissioner Kadri Simson will give a keynote speech followed by a roundtable with government representatives and stakeholders on enabling conditions.
The second day of the Forum will see the launch of a matchmaking exercise that will allow Alliance members to meet 1:1 or in thematic sessions to discuss their projects and possible cooperation. Match-making opportunities will continue beyond the Forum with the aim to facilitate the creation of larger, integrated projects along the industrial value chain.
All Alliance members on 28 May received an invitation to the Forum via our B2match event platform (https://european-hydrogen-forum-2021.b2match.io/). Many of you have already signed up for specific sessions, requested meetings and published your matchmaking opportunities in the ‘marketplace’. For those who have not, one week remains until the Forum to make the best use of these opportunities. For ease of reference, we are sending attached the Forum agenda.
Should you have any problems registering for the event or require additional invitations for colleagues within your organization, please send us an email at GROW-HYDROGEN-PLATFORM@ec.europa.eu.
Best regards,
The DG GROW Hydrogen team
