The Enterprise Singapore (ESG) is collaborating with key industry partners to launch the 2nd Round of the 2021 Sustainability Open Innovation Challenge (SOIC) to help build a brighter future for the planet with challenge statements in key sustainability areas such as sustainable materials, waste management, and many more.
They are inviting innovative companies to participate in this challenge not only for the chance to collaborate with major partners, testbed and access funding to develop the solutions, but to also play a critical role in building a more sustainable future for the world.
Focus Areas
SOIC 2021 (Round 2) will be focusing on two challenge areas based on:
  • Circular Economy
    • Green Buildings
    • Sustainable Materials / Packaging
    • Waste Management
    • Zero-Waste Supply Chain
  • Low Carbon Economy
    • Low Carbon Alternatives
    • Renewable Energy
    • Sustainable Transport
Eligibility Criteria
  • This challenge is open to all Startups, SMEs, Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and Research Institutes (RIs) across the world.
  • The competition is open to Startups and SMEs across the world.
  • Startups and SMEs can also decide to enter the competition in partnership with Multinational Corporations (MNCs), Large Local Enterprises (LLEs) and Research Institutes (RIs).
Judging Criteria
All submissions will be assessed based on the following criteria:
  • Technical Feasibility of solution and novelty (40%)
  • Business feasibility of solution (30%)
  • Capacity and Expertise to execute projects (20%)
  • Clarity & Comprehensiveness of proposal and test plans (10%)
