The UITP is looking for proposed technologies that shall offer Public Transport Operators with solutions enhancing security situational awareness through:
1. Timely automatic detection of potentially dangerous unattended items in Public Transport Infrastructure and in public areas in the vicinity;
2. Identification and tracking of perpetrators;
3. Integration/interoperability of the technology in standard crisis management systems and video management systems.
The Open Market Consultation is part of an EU-funded project called PREVENT PCP (https://www.prevent-pcp.eu/). The project’s objective is to improve the security of public transport through procurement of technological solutions. This will be done through Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP), with the purpose of purchasing R&D services to develop these technological solutions. PREVENT Pre-Commercial Procurement available budget is 9.33€ Million, and it involves 13 public buyers coming from 6 different EU countries, who will validate 2 different prototypes in 4 pilots in France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
